Maureen and Andrew wanted to host their destination wedding in Maine for a number of reasons. First, Maureen's father's side of my family moved to Maine when they immigrated to the US from Ireland and her family grew up summering in Maine. Andrew didn't grow up in Maine but, they made it a point to come to Maine as often as possible and his fondness for Vacationland grew over time.
When Maureen and Andrew were venue hunting, Andrew's mom mentioned that she used to spend her summers in a tiny community called Prouts Neck and from what she remembered, there was a lovely hotel called The Black Point Inn. On their venue tour they discovered that the flag pole at the Prouts Neck Yacht Club was dedicated to Andrew's great grandfather who was the former commodore. It was at that moment that they decided to host their black tie wedding Black Point Inn, on Prouts Neck.
When they were planning their wedding they wanted a classic, coastal feel so they incorporated lots of blues and greens to really tie into the natural beauty of the Prouts Neck area.
