There are many reasons why I love the State of Maine. One of them is because of days like this. Some people might think ice storms are annoying, gross, and somewhat frustrating, but I find them absolutely stunning. I love the muted colors of the sky, the extreme contrast of the snow against the ocean, the clear coating of ice on everything, the dense fog, and the green hues that come out of the sea…

Back in November I got the chance to work with and learn from Chaz Cruz in Brooklyn, New York. He’s an amazing photographer with a lot of passion and energy. I love going above and beyond my day to day work and getting more creative. I also love learning from other people in the industry whether they’re wedding photographers and/or commercial/editorial photographers. I’m primarily a Maine Wedding Photographer and I specialize in weddings, but I’m hoping to branch out into more commercial work.

Gel lighting is something I absolutely love because it extremely dynamic and fun.

The Public Works had a wedding vendor party and it was great to catch up with so many familiar faces in the wedding world. Thanks to Pinch Me Planning and The Public Works for putting this shindig together.

There was a great team of vendors that donated their time and craftsmanship for the event. I’ve included everyone’s info below, so be sure to check out their amazing work!

I love this space for many reasons, here’s a few….. 1. I’m super stoked to have another event space and venue downtown. This space is incredible. It has extremely tall ceilings and a lot of charm. It’s the perfect space for weddings, company parties, workshops, etc. 2. I’m officially moving into the Public Works January 1st, so as you can imagine I’m very excited, come by and say hi! 3. The Public works was started by Barrett Made. I used to nanny for Sydney and Rob Barrett so I was even more excited when I heard they created this amazing venue and co-working space.

I can’t wait to watch the growth of this venue and to be part of the Public Works co-working team!

The goal for this shoot was to showcase Maine’s fall foliage and the landscapes that exemplify the beauty of New England’s seasonal color palette.   A local flower and herb farm provided the perfect backdrop to celebrate this amazing time of year.

Fresh Pickins Farm is located in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Unlike most farms in the area, it sits on the ocean’s edge.  The farm is located on a piece of land that has been conserved for generations.

In this fall wedding shoot, you’ll find vibrant florals, lace details, a century-old Herb barn and charcuterie boards made from local cheeses and meats.   The deep red and orange colored florals not only adorned the intimate dining table for the couple, but also the bride’s flower crown accessory. The endless fields of flowers and apple orchard set the scene for this beautiful fall shoot.

A year ago, I went on a life changing journey to Morocco with 15 strangers. It was a journey that I’ll hold near and dear to my heart forever. Every woman on the trip was a creative looking to meet and grow with other creative women. I booked the trip through We Are Creative Adventurers, which is a is a travel experience empowering women to discover their passions and create change. I went on this trip at such a pivotal time in my career, as I was transitioning out of the corporate world and into running my photography business full-time. I will forever cherish the adventures, laughs, tears, personal growth, and creativity that came from this trip. These women gave me the strength to follow my heart and run my business full-time. For that I’m forever grateful.

Thanks to these ladies:

I’m a Maine based wedding photographer, but I often shoot in the Boston Area and all over New England. Elm Bank is a stunning venue in Wellesley, Massachusetts. The property dates back to the 1700’s so it has a lot of history. It has a beautiful greenhouse, old stone statues, an immaculate stone fountain, and three expansive gardens. This venue is one of my favorites in New England and I hope to photograph a wedding here some day. I’m also in love with this vendor team (see below) and check out the elegant gowns created by Sareh Nouri New York.

I’m a Maine wedding photographer but I shoot a lot in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and New York.. I’ve done a handful of styled shoots this summer and most of them have been outside of Maine. I had the pleasure of doing a this styled shoot at The Commons 1854 in Topsfield, Massachusetts. The venue had a beautiful ballroom, marble floors, white pillars and gold moldings around the fireplace. I loved the clean, classic palette of colors. The shoot was elegant and playful. This elegant yet whimsical wedding shoot took place at The Cape Club of Sharon in Sharon, Massachusetts. The shoot embodied childlike romance with sophisticated influences. The color palette was soft, clean, and classic. There were two high-end bridal looks and both dresses had beautiful detailed beading. I approached this styled shoot from a fine art wedding photography perspective as that’s the direction I’m trying to take my work. I really appreciate the aesthetic of film as I grew up with a dark room in my house and I’ve been shooting more film these days. I also felt that the style of this shoot needed to be represented through a fine art lens.

I first learned about Weddings Boston when they featured me on their website and I was excited to work with them again. I also had the pleasure of meeting many other talented wedding vendors who are all listed below. I’m a Maine wedding photographer, but I love shooting all over New England and expanding my market and network. I hope you enjoy the images below!
